Malfunction = 1, Reduce Oil. We've had this car since July 20th with no indications. Then tonight we get this indication from the computer that we need to reduce oil? HUH??? The vehicle also just came up the same day that an "A" Service needs to be done. Car has 55K. Great car, love it.... Anyone else get this display of "Malfunction"

3 possibilities.
1. Oil IS overfull. Check using manual dipstick on level ground. Ensure you know where the full mark is supposed to be. Check after engine has been standing for 10 mins or so if the engine is not cold.
2. Faulty oil level sender unit (in sump)
3. Spurious electronics gremlin. A RESTART usually clears.

If 1 then too much oil has been added or alternatively something else....coolant water...has been adding to the level. Check coolant level. Is it low?

Should be covered by warranty.
