We have a 2000 CLK320 conv. and keep getting a light malfunction displayed. I have noticed there is a problem with the brake lights. When the brakes are applied the back lights come on and so do the right front parking lights (front and side). Not the left. I cannot figure out why this is happening. Fuses are all good. Any ideas before I get it checked (which I am sure will not be cheap).
Also with the brake lights, there are 2 bulbs in each taillight (3 if you count the turn signal), the 2 on the right side light up and only 1 on the left side lights up. I swapped the bulbs and it still did the same thing, so its not the bulb.

remove the right rear stop bulb, press the brake. does the front right parks still come on?
normally this fault is caused by, when a double contact bulb is fitted when there should be a single contact. is there towbar wiring. basically the stop lamp wire is connected to your right side parks.
