Hey guys,

Just bought this car in a private sale about a month ago. Had absolutely ZERO problems with it until yesterday morning.

Went to leave before work and my car wouldn't start. It was cold outside, -3 celsius...the coldest day of the year so far.

When I turn the key the lights and radio all come on fine. Just when I turn the key further right, nothing happens...just a faint ticking sound. Almost like it's trying to start, but something is holding it back.

I think the check engine light is on, but I don't remember for sure (I'm at work right now and don't recall).

I am curious as to what it could be. The car has roughly 140,000 kilometres on it and runs fine.

The guy I bought it from says there was nothing wrong with it and I tend to believe him.

What could be wrong? I am curious to try and unplug the battery and hook it back up to see if that will work. But will that cause problems for any of the codes or anything? Is it possible that I just need to reset a certain code or something?

Never owned an MB before, hopefully someone can help me!
