1999 clk230 kompressor

Default 1999 clk230 kompressor

can anyone help me. just had to replace supercharger but now have very reduced power and the asr/bas warning light permanently on. the car is lowered on 19" alloys but otherwise standard. any help would be very appreciated!!!

CHeck to see if the K40 relay is burnt out, or just replace it to make sure. We usually replace both together just in case. The asr/bas could just be a stop lamp switch.

hi ya, thankyou for replying. its my first merc so i'm on a learning curve haha! where would i find the k40 relay as i'm sure the stop lamp switch is ok because the brake lights work fine, as does everything else on the car. thanks again

The K40 relay is in the engine compartment on the right side at the rear. It is near the diagnostic port, you have to use a Phillips screw driver to remove the screws then the relay just un-clips. Last time a check the relay cost about 150-200 bucks at the dealer. If you are going to replace it buy it first so if will be easy to recognize it in the engine bay. I am sure that the K40 relay controls the kompresor so this should be your first step.

hi ya, i'm sorry for the late reply but was working away. thanks for all that info. i'm totally stumped now though because i had a diagnostic check done and it came back with no faults!!!! the light won't go out though but since then it seems to be running with full power again
