1991 Mercedes 300CE Problems
I was driving my '91 300CE when suddenly it stalled to a stop. The previous day, it had overheated and I had to re-fill the radiator which was empty. Also, there was a cracking sound from the air conditioner right before stalling. Now, the heater blows cold air only not to mention that after the car warms up, the idle becomes very shakey and when put in drive, it rattles and then goes off. Initially, I rebuilt my smog pump which was freezing but the problems have not gone away yet. After the car warms up, their is some sort of metal clink in the motor. I have been to that it might be my fuel injection system or my lines that need to be flushed. Somebody mentioned my valve needed to be replaced. I also noticed that the water may not be circulating as the radiator hose hardens after a while.Whitish smoke is emmitted when accelerated/ raved. What do I do? I am very frustrated at this point!!

RE: 1991 Mercedes 300CE Problems
The radiator leak was visible but not traceable as it dripped along the radiator, I used a sealant that seemed to have worked......the idle problem however, continues. I will look into the headgasket possibility.
