Hello all,

Well, I finally purchased my Mercedes. But, now, I am having a bot of trouble. I have looked in the archives here and none of the previous answers seem to help me.

As I mentioned I have a 1983 380 SEL. The idle at this point is at around 15-1700. When it is running perfect it only idles at around 500 rpms. You can barely hear the engine running. Then out of the blue, it starts idling really high. I have monkeyed around with the linkage, but that hasn't seemed to fix it.

Is there an idle "screw"??? I don't suppose there is.

Can anyone shed some light on my problem. I got a great deal on this car and it is beautiful, but this idle is frustrating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
