Hi, I'm a new forum member. I am in London UK and have jut purchased a 1983 280TE. There is a leak in the joint between the cambox and head. A previous owner has made a mseey repair using some sort of paste on the outside of the joint but its not good and I intend to do the job properly.
I have a Haynes manual but it doesn't describe the assembly very well. What I would like to know from anyone who has done the job is how complex is the job, it doesn't look too difficult but I've never owned a mercedes before.
I am specifically interested in whether or not there are any gaskets or seals that I will need to do the job ? Also any useful hits or tips associated with this particular task.
