Hi everyone, I own a 1979 300TD which i love to death. However it is in need of several repairs that i cannot afford all at once. Most pressing is the exhaust which is practically nonexistant. At this point I am trying to decide wether the car is worth fixing up financially. Here is the list of repairs as furnished by the mechanic:
1)A/C-ACT-P/S belts
2)Vacuum pump
3)Aux water pump
4)ride control pump
5)ride control lever
6)cpmplete exhaust

I am perfectly willing to fix this car up, however i can only afford about 1 repair a month after the exhaust, so im trying to figure out what is the most pressing repair, and in general whether its worth my money. Any advice about this would be great. thanks

Belts are inexpensive and important, so that would be high on my list. The vacuum pump is also critical, since it's required for your brakes to function properly. You can pick up a vacuum pump repair kit for a song and a dance, so I wouldn't hesitate there either. You mention that exhaust is a priority -- make sure you get a good price (spend no more than $250 for components).
