Default 03 C230 "spurrtering" at idle

My 03 c230 only has 26,000 miles on it but is out of warrenty due to years. Today, it started "sputerring" at idle and seems like its about to turn off. Dealer said it most likely is a vacuum leak and if its what they think, will cost $700 to fix!!!! Any ideas on what I can do to check the car out myself or any ideas at all???? THanks!

I'm having the same problem on my '03 C230 (51k), I took it to my local Mercedes dealer and they told me it was an oil leak. Oil dripping on
a idle sensor and the repair would cost $1080 ??? I don't quite believe that and will be bringing it to a different dealer to get a second opinion.

Have you fixed yours ? I wonder if anyone here knows what's the solution is or where to have it fixed for a reasonable price.

Thanks,

xlntech
