Default $$ to repaint back bumper?

Hey guys, I'm only 18 and I regret driving my dad'ssilver c240 after I backed out and hit another car at school. I guess I don't deserve to drive a mercedes at such a young age. So I got some big scratches and some paint came off. Now I have to repaint the back bumper so does anyone know about how much that would cost? I want to know an estimate and have an idea before I go to the dealer. Thanks.</P>

If the scratch is deeper than the just the paint it may be difficult to get a quality repair that will bring the bumpr back to original condition. Check with a reputable body shop and see what they say. If you need to get a replacement bumper check with Potomac German, I can't remember their website, they have a place in Maryland and one in Florida. Sometimes they have new and used bumper covers for sale. If what they have does not match your dad's car color, you can always get it resprayed.</P>

The scatch isn't really big, but just paint came off. I wasn't going that fast because I was backing out. But thanks for the info, appreciate it.</P>

Just got back from the mercedes collision center. Estimate is about $600-$1000. Damn, that's a lot.

Try a good quality independent shop. MB dealers are notorious for gouging. Best way to find one is asking friends or an independent MBmechanic. Sometimes they know good quality body shops.</P>

Good thinking. I never thought of that but Iguess I will go to a nearby independent MB dealer in a couple of days. I'll tell you the estimate in caseyou're interested. Thanks again AlbertM, you're a life saver! <edited><editID>phillybballur</editID><editDate>38020.0131944444</editDate></edited>
