w211 wheels on w210
Hi, I have acquired a set of 16" w211 wheels and want to know what effect they will have if fitted to a w210 MY 12/01.
The original alloys are 71/2J the w211 are 8J.
The w210 offset is ET41 and the w211 is ET36.
Will this make any difference to the car - if so what?
Hope someone out there has some useful info.
Thanks.

Mercedes does not recommend this, of course. Width wise, I dont see any red flags, though your info is incomplete. "fit" includes tire and wheels and all specifications. also do not know exact wheels you have as it is important to know the lug design. custom bolts may be needed, depending on a variety of factors.

Well if you have them than put them on the car if nothing rubs and the bolts are correct you are good to go. MOST German cars lug pattern is 5*112. But that might not be true for all but those are both 5*112.

the W211 rim is designed for use with 14mm lug bolts with 14mm radius ball seat.
your W210 uses smaller 12mm lug bolts with 12mm radius seats.
bottom line: if you use your existing bolts, you'll lose much lug seating as contact point. chances are that the W211 rim will have much less thickness at the lug....from ball seat to mounting surface, thus requiring a shorter bolt.
in other words, dont do it unless you're going to hunt down custom/conversion bolts which use 12mm diameter bolts with 14mm ball seat.
did this last year, fitting an AMG from a W211 2005 E55........to my W210 99 E320.
