Default What was last year of manual trans Diesel Bens in U.S.?

Does anyone know what the last year was the Mercedes sold a manual transmission DieselBenz in the States? Some info on this would help as I am seriously considering selling my other MBs for another nice Diesel with a manual tranny.
Thanks in advance!

Forced, is it an engine to avoid? It may be more my style than the 240D which seems to need just about everything. Any background that you can give on this particular model/engine/etc.. would be great. Thanks in advance.

Just had the rear window seal replaced. Had to get most of the metal refabricated and repaired due to rust. After priming and the new seal the whole job cost me around $120. Looks great.... it's a start.[X(]
