That is what I use and couldn't agree more with you
No problems and been told by all mechanics it is good oil and is recommended for the 240D

Thumbs up The engine oil that I use is:

I use Rotella 15/40 which is made for diesel engines. Not all oil is alike.
I am pretty sure diesel is class C oil which is for diesel engines.

I never even thought about using a synthetic oil. If I did it would have to be rated for diesel engines.

Someone put it this way, "If it is good enough for the big boys Cummins, Detroit Diesel... then it is good enough for me"

Of course I am always interested in something new that is PROVEN over time if it works better.

I have also been told by mechanics that the Rotella 15/40 is good oil and it sells for about $11.00 a gallon at Walmart.

This is my $.02 worth of input.

There have been a lot of oil formulation changes since the 2007 EPA diesel emission standards. Some folks at Diesel Truck Resource prefer non-CJ-4, API CI-4 plus grade oil for older diesel models.
http://www.turbodieselregister.com/TDR57_Oil.pdf
"Zincdithiophosphate (Zinc and Phosphorus, ZDDP) additive is the most effective oxidation inhibitor and anti-wear agent currently available."

And, everybody has an opinion. As the moderator states, any API C rated lubricant is adequate for older diesel models.

In my opinion, the primary advantage of CJ-4 synthetic lubricant is increased time between replacement; the primary disadvantage is less ZDDP in order to protect the life of recent technology emmission control devices (which I don't have); and the primary question being one of soot capacity, which affects longevity of lubrication within specification. If both synthetic and petroleum lubricant have equal soot capacity, then they require equally frequent replacement.

Since I choose to replace lubricant more frequently than factory specified, I prefer less expensive petroleum lubricant designed to have greater soot capacity and more ZDDP.

Chevron Delo 400 Multigrade 15W40, API CI-4 Plus
"Delo 400 Multigrade SAE 15W-40 is a premium quality engine oil designed for pre-2007 engines and higher sulfur fuels (> 500 ppm sulfur). With exceptional soot dispersancy and wear control, Delo 400 Multigrade SAE 15W-40 protects cylinders, pistons, rings, and injectors against wear and corrosion, providing optimum service life and minimal maintenance."
