I found a 240D in my local neighborhood, and I am wondering if the what the owner is asking is a fair price.

It is a 1980 240D with a manual trans, and over 300k on it. The paint is pretty bad, but inside it is better.

He is asking 1250 for it, and this seems a bit high, what should this car be worth?

He also said at one point the engine was rebuilt.

 

Does the car run? If so, how does it sound? I have found that a lot of people claim to have a rebuilt engine/tranny in the vehicle they are selling. When I ask about it they always say their brother, uncle, father, etc.... did it so there's no reciepts.

 

I'm gonna pass on this one, this price is just ridiculous and they don't want to negotiate or show me records.
