screw that ac/controler-( i 'm new)
i had a 87 sdl sold it was sorry i did---2 yeard later i now got an 86 sdl
pulled the mono valve---that looks good-
put 12v to the fan motor --that blew fine
checked all the fueses--none of them look blown
the compresser doesnt engauge
here is my question
going into the compresser is a wire houseing witha white wire--red &purple --blue & red ---blue&green
witch one is the power supply that turns on the copresser engagueing the clutch
then i would like to know if any one besides me said screw it--
and put a ball valve where the mono valve is --for heat
and a switch to power the ac/compresser
the ambient tempature device will be ---the loose nut behind the wheel

Trace the wires back from the a/c clutch there should be a low pressure cut-out switch in the line. Check for power on the opposite side of that switch, if it's there check the refrigerant charge, if not keep tracing. There is somewhere that the signal isn't getting through. When you find its source correct it. For instance the blower fan not coming on will prevent the clutch from pulling in. The climate control is only part of the equation. You need to do some digging to find the problem.
