Replacing radiator fan on 1998 E300 TD

Default Replacing radiator fan on 1998 E300 TD

I am replacing the radiator fan blade on my 1998 E300 TD. The blades were damaged when the idler pulley went to pieces. My question is removing the three (what looks like allen head screws) screws holding the fan blade on.

I have removed the fan blade shroud. Do I need to remove the radiator to get to the screws? If they are allen screws - does anyone know what size and can I get the blade off w/o removing the radiator? Thanks you very much!

Look on youtube there are videos on how to remove the fan and fan clutch for your specific car I think.

Thanks. I did find the you tube video you referred to. It was on a 1999 E300TD and was very informative. By the way, it identified the three screws that hold the radiator fan to the fan clutch as 'Hex 5' and also how to move the radiator forward for more room. Thank you again.
