Diesels with no turbo are not noise idiling but step on it with no muffler and it is so loud it is annoying. A turbo in Pa is concedered a noise elimating device legal for inspection. It did how ever cost me a trip to the state police station for me to show them in their inspection manual it was legal. You will not here it in the car if the pipe is out the back especially with the windows closed. This all happend with a diesel truck and a Benz should be quite. I'll assume if you had a diesel all turn up and performing you wouldn't of asked this question. Personelly I would have a shop bend one for me in a larger diameter and put a good flowing muffler on. In Pa SS is the only pipe if you want to keep it for awhile. Like Forcedinduction stated your 240 exhayst by it's self won't make it run any better.
