I have a spare motor in storage and just realized that i pulled off the fly wheel (or flex plate not sure what to call it) off the crank a long time ago and im sure i didnt do it at tdc and a about a year ago i turned the crank to see if it was still free. Are there marking on the "flywheel" to corectly align the flywheel to the motor since i now know that it is matched balanced to the motor. Any help would be awesome. thanks Ryan

I got down to the shop this weekend and found that the crank looked like it had a flat cold chisel mark pointing outward but the flywheel didnt have the same mark it just had two "V" marks open end pointing to eathother between two bolt holes. If bolted up the marks wouldent qiute line up. Any one have a picture of the marks?

 

I did the same as ruddarunner, however; I have not been able to find the marks mentioned in post 2 on my crank or flywheel-any help would be much appreciated by this forum and diesel new guy.
