Do you recommend Mobil 1 "EngineOil" 0W-30 or 0W-40for my 84 300SD with 277,700mi
And for the transmission what oil do u guys use recommend.

You can't use the 0W30. The 0W40 does meet the specific MBz requirement your car needs.

I'd stick with Dexron ATF.

 

Ishould had said this b4 but what brand do u recommend for the transmission fluid

The conventional trans fluids are generic. I use the house brand from Advance Auto Parts. I bought a 1 gallon jug last week for $7.98 Get whatever is convenient and meets Dexron III. Dexron II is history.

 

Hmm...that's curious. I thought the factory has recommended 0W40 for years

 

so it 0w-40 bad for the engine!!

Well sincemobil 1 0W-40 cost aboutabout $6.11 per quart (yes i am in U.S)so idecided to ditch that idea and went with a 15W-40 Mobil 1 Delvac 1300 Superwhich cost $10.99 per gallon (great deal). Iusedmobil 1Delvaclast time.
