normal operating temp
So I've got this old (1985) 190 D 2.2 that I just got back from the mechanic. I took it in for stalling and 6 months later the mechanic told me the diesel injection pump is all clogged with stuff and he can't find me a used replacement. He cleaned it out as best as he could and the car seems to run ok, but there is one issue. It seems that when/if the car reaches 80 degrees C it will stall in park or neutral. Runs fine if it's on open road but if I stop it, it'll stall.
Today, I drove it for about 8 miles. The temp never broke ~65 degreesC. I started thinking that this was more or less the op temp. This led me to thinking that 80 C is too hot resulting in the car running poorly.
Any thoughts?

RE: normal operating temp
It's not he can't find the part. It's he can'tfind a used one. Brand new diesel injection pump runs closed to 2 grand. He was trying to get me a used one. I too looked to find one and only found a place that rebuilds them for 900 bucks.
I thought the temp was too low. Guess that would explain why there wasn't any heat. This car is gonna send me to the poor house.
