New 1974 240D Yes!!! Questions

Exclamation New 1974 240D Yes!!! Questions
I got my 1974 240D a few days ago and i love it.. just a few questions.. 1) would white exhaust be normal when starting my car and accelerating? 2) Should the oil (pressure i think) meter be all the way to the top? I think my gauges are messed up. thats it.

Why would white smoke be normal? Isn't that an indicator of leaking valve seals? Thanks.
