RE: MPG
I have a 1991 300D. I do mostly highway. I get from 30.5 mpg (driving 75-80 mph) to 33.5 mpg (driving 55-60 mph). It has been that way for the 220,000 miles I have driven it (it currently has about 350k). Very consistent on mpg --- I almost always get 31.5 --- I am typically driving about 65-70 mph. By the way this is in hilly, mountainous areas.

RE: MPG
I run larger rear tires and odo is not off that much. But on No#2 I get 30 to 32 mpg hwy.On wvo I've gotten 34mpg hwy at speeds over 80mph.Veggie is a slicker fuel.I notice too when I first bought the car,on a full tank, and drive out 3 gals. Higher mpgs. This made alot of sense, since fuel pressure was higher causing lift pump to not have to work so hard.So I installed a electric boost pump to push fuel to engine.Man what a difference better mpgs, and chase new e class up mountains.W126 OM 617

RE: MPG
I have a 93 300D and get around 26 city and 29 highway. I have done everything I can think off to increase fuel efficiency and I don't know why my milage is so much lower than most listers suggest. I am very frustrated. I have checked tire air presures (constantly), changed all filters, installed a new tranny (very nice) replaced leaking intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, checked vacume and operation of turbo boost, waxed by car, driven at 60 mph. Prayed to all dieties I can think off, plus a few more. Any suggestions?
