Two weeks ego I had the "shift gear linkage" replacedI had to bring the car back to the shop because the car was not shifting wright, then theradio and windows went off, I took the car back to the garage, he told me I had a "short" and mademe pay$190, then when I pick upthe carnot only I couldn't move the seats back and forth but the motorwas doing a "trolle" noise, when I brought it to the mechanic attentionhe said I neededto replace the"alternator" $390

My question is can an "alternator" goes bad over night while being repair for an electrical"short" at the shop??? Thanks for any suggestions

 

I think I'd start taking my car someplace else.
