Ok im completely ignorant of MB. Im just looking for a dependable easy to work on commuter car. I am a serious diesel fan owning a 02 dodge with VP44 eater isb cummins. I also have an 01 powerstroke "X". At the time thats all we own and its killing me to spend $500 + in fuel for my measly commute to community college and church. A nearby guy keeps a few MBs and has a 95 300d for $4500. I don't mind the older 300 bodies or look but I would like the newest interior possible to avoid seat problems window regulators door lock problems heater controls and dash problems if possible. The guy had a 190d a while back but sold it before I could go look at it. I could care less about speed, just want MPG and reliability. Whats yalls recommendations?

And what can I expect from a 85-93 with 150-300k on it I know people always say the motors good for 400-500k but somethings gotta go out I see lots for sale with 300k cheap.

if there is recomended reading can someone please give me links to get me on my feet. I am swimming in forums already that I contribute too and cant really spend as much time ats I would like searching.
