Default Kim Hotstart Coolant Heater

Hello everyone. I drive an 83 300TDT and was wondering if this particular coolant heater would be a viable option or if anyone has any experience with this one. Here's the link:

With a little bit of brainstorming and staring at the diagram of the cooling system I feel like I could make this work. I like the idea of the thermostat that cuts on and off. The other one that goes in the lower hose will be here thursday so I may just go with that but I just happened to find this one and now I wonder if I shouldn't go all out. The car was a florida car so there was no block heater installed. Currently resides in the mountains of North Carolina and its freakin' cold right now. Anyways...thoughts?

Default Where is this heater

Hey Forced, I have looked all over my engine block and can't find a heater. Will the cord and all be there? Thanks

If your car is properly tuned, it should start ably down to 10F without needing a block heater.

Well did a valve adjustment yesterday and that made a huge difference. Two long glows and she fired right up. I ended up buying a lower hose heater. I have to install a new rad. tomorrow so I will put the heater in then. I am a little skeptical though because this one is only rated at 375W but I guess if its on all night it will do the job eventually. Hopefully warming the car up will be a thing of the past, plus my neighbors will thank me! And im gonna look real hard tomorrow for that block heater. That would be really funny if I found that thing.

Unless you have a low compression issue with the use of your Glow Plugs you should be able to start your Car.
Here is a site that has a pictorial on how to check the Glow Plugs:

How about your Camshaft Timing/Timing Chain Stretch, Injectors and the Fuel Injection Pump Timing. Are, they all within specs.
