thanks forced, its a 80 300d n/a, i have come a long way in two days... from the vac can, what needs to be in line before it gets to the fuel pump and why. what is the function of the vac line on the pump. how does the vac line work on the tranny? after reading for two days all i could find is full vac make soft shifts and no vac makes hard shifts? i only have two vac control valves and i cant see how and why would control shifts in that way. what im asying is i think i must be missing something. another control valve? i got the fuel kill under control. wires on the tranny are four on one side and one on the other. i have been told about i switch under the fuel peddle that controls the wot performance. what do you think?

oh one more thing, the tach. how does mb do it? is it from the alt? i had planed to get the alt built at my local alt shop to a one wire. but if i need it for a tach then im going to have to have a reg right? the engine has 100k on it and is the best looking diesel i have evn seen as i pull the oil fill cap off and stuck my finger in the box and swab it around it comes out clean. oil but no funk at all. it looks like a gasser with 10k on it! i was shocked. in side the air filter housing is crean around the pcv. pcv hose is dry. intake runners are almost clean. no funk on the cam between the cam lobes. dip stick looks like new with dark but well filtered oil on it. no burn or hot oil marks on the dip stick. i think i got lucky with this one and the guy i got it from seems like a good dude. i have to go out of town for work for a week and i will try to check in from time to time. thank you so far for all the help. Nick
