Hi,I'm new here and I'm asking for help.
I have an 1984 300SD 300000km.Sience 3 weeks I have a big problem with my car,it working in 3 or 4 cylinders when tick over(ralenti).I never has this probleme befor.I was thinking is fuel filter,I changed itbut nothing.I bring it to the garage and the mechanic checked the injectors and the injection pump.They told me the injectors are good(after they changed one)but the injector pump it's not good.For the first cylinder she give 50% of gas,and for the 3th and 4th cylinder the pompe give 70% of gas.On the highway I have no problem with,I have power and everythig(not like before,but it's working...)The mechanic also put same fluid in my tank to clean up inside the pump.He told me I have to change the pump.What do you think,any of you has this problem before and you change the pump?You have anny ideea where I can find the used pump,because the new one is verry expensive(3000$)
I'm verry surprised because this problem hapend to me during a trip of 600 km.When I start my trip,everything was perfect,I run 600km on the highway,with one stop after 250km,and when I stop second time after another 350 km this problem came out...hapend just like that....I was thinking it's a filter,it's an injector...and now the mechanic told me it's the pump...what do you think about?(I changed iven the glow plugs,because in the same time,on the same trip they burn out,all of .When I start my trip the orange light was working,and after my 600km no more working...and I have problem to start after,the car.Now the car start well,perfect,like before,but the vibration still there...).The mechanic it's a guy who worked 23 years for mercedes,he havehis garage where he is repairing just Mercedes.So,it's not "just a garage"...

I have two pumps. One from an 83 tdt with 280 kmiles and the other from an 81 sd with 225 kmiles. I know the tdt pump is good. That engine had a cracked cylinder head but the car ran for over a year with the cracks. The SD was a loner to my neice and she destroyed the car while at college. Anyone need some 81 sd parts? cheap.
