Expansion Tank Replacement

Expansion tank plug kit.

What is the proper install order?

Slide O Ring into plug shaft, Insert plug shaft into expansion tank then insert E Clip atop it?

What is this expansion tank plug kit you are speaking of? I also have an 85 300TD. Thanks.
