which engine?
I am new to this forum and have read many of the questions but am still not sure of an answer. I am powering a 1959 chev panel truck which weighs in at about 4000 lbs.I am diesel powering it,I am leaning to a Mb diesel.locally found a84 wagon with a 3.0ltr 5 cyl. turbo. also a 86 sedan with a 3.0 ltr 6 cylinder turbo. was told the 5 cylinder has more torque but the 6 cylinder is quicker. This truck is not as areodynamic as a m.b. car is.so was hoping to pick up some helpful information from someone more experienced.both car have about 200,000 kms on them. what rpm do you think it will need to cruise at at 60 mph? what mileage should i expect to get. a gm 6.2 diesel in a 2wd suburban gets about 26 mpg in canada in the summer-just tired of the noise of them though. what is the difference in torque and hp of the two diesels? thanks Dave

RE: which engine?
what power increases are available for the 3 ltr 6 cylinder engine.do the engines respond well with propane enhansment.i had propane on the truck before so it wont be much to hook up.ive read no more than 12 lbs boost but do you still need to watch exhaust temps. not going to drive it crazy, but want it to be able to pass when i need it to. dave

RE: which engine?
what size turbo upgrade do you recommend? i would like to have about 200-225 hp.what is the difference in a indirect and direct diesel engine? will a 3 ltr 6 cylinder stay together with upgrades to 225hp without major internal engine work? thanks again Dave
