whats with all the MB diesel listing s lately on ebay? i have search saved, and get 10 , 15 new listing s a day lately.

is there a mass exitodus from owning older mb diesels due to USLD ?

 

germany s been running USLD for some years now, what happened to all the older diesel MB s there ?

 

I don't think ULSD has much if anything to do with it. Colder weather brings out diesel engine gremlins and people are probably more frustrated with their older M-B diesels this time of year. Throw in poor handling in the snow (on most models) and you get a formula for the "For Sale" sign.

 

I fully agree with Drrty240D. The dead batteries, hard starting, poor traction and badhandling really gets you pulling your hair out....

 

Well another reason is that everyone has heard that these cars have gone up in value and people are now interested in getting rid of them and making some more $$$.

Seriously though, the new E-Class has a diesel, the R-Class has one, GL has one, etc...

 

Since I drive an old 300DT that, even during the winter, flawlessly starts and burns 90% WVO, I strongly suspect many are merely upgrading to a newer model diesel... and their trade ins are showing up on Ebay...Ilike scaning ebay, butI wouldn't buy an auto sight unseen. However, one day I might find a gooddeal on Ebay that's withindriving distance....
