Default E 300D engine noise

Hello everybody,

First of all I would like to thank all who have tried to help me with my problems. My E 300D 124 1995, had gone through an engine rebuild, after that the engine is not very smooth and makes a little extra noise, which sounds like diesel knocking but there is no starting problem or any white or black smoke.

How can I attach an audio / video file here.

Please advise as to how to make it purr like a cat.

Thanks

Does the engine make better power than it did before? How many miles since rebuild? I would look at the injector timing. Ask the tech where it was set when he did the rebuild.

Thank you for your reply, it's been 6000 miles since rebuild, yes the power has increased and there is no smoke at all either black or white. If the timing would have been wrong don't you think there would have been some smoke. At what degree is this car generally set for timing. Thanks again

My 1997 Mercedes e300 diesel has no engine power. The engine have a slight knock to it when you match the accelerator. I did change my head gasket, now I am concern about whether or not I messed up on my timing chain. I have two codes, P0380 and P1369. I Need help to get my car back running smoothly again.
