Diesel Purge
I just bought the Diesel Purge kit from Diesel Giant. I have owned my car for almost 2 years and have not did this yet. I was not familar with the purge until recently. Good stuff or what? How often do you do it?

RE: Diesel Purge
Diesel purge really works. It'll clean your injectors and nozzles and your engine will be much the better for it.Yet according to some old man ,transmission fluid doesthe same thing. Every time you change the fuel filter, fill it with transmission fluid. In the meantime, occasionally pour 1 or 2 qts of new transmission fluid in the fuel tank. But used transmission fluid is a big no no!

Diesel Fuel Treatment
I just came across a fuel treatment called XFT- I combined this with the diesel in my wagon and it is running better than EVER, nearly 30 mpg on the highway - very little smoke. I did have to change both fuel filters - it really cleaned up the lines and quieted the injectors. It cost me about $3.50 to treat 20 gallons- worth a try - adding a dose to the tank isn't very labor intensive!

Getting back to Diesel Purge. It works very well to clean injectors. How often? Most say once a year. Best if used when you start to notice a hot idle miss. That is an indicator of a dirty injector.
Be sure to follow directions. I have found best results when I start with the engine hot and go from there. Be sure to run it up and down (rev it) as it is used up. Takes about 15 to 20 minutes to use up a can of purge. Always a noticable improvement.
