Diesel fuel additive
Greetings,
I am a new Mercedes owner having just purchased an '07 ML320 CDI. I was told by the salesman thatno additive is to be added to the diesel fuel under any circumstances. having a Duramax in my GMC, I use an additive religiously to help lubricate the injection pump and injectors. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I don't see where an additive could hurt anything, but I am new to the world of Mercedes-benz. Thanks for any info.

RE: Diesel fuel additive
ORIGINAL: ForcedInduction
Do not use ANY additives with the ML320CDI engine or your Drualax. guess u drive a flowerstroke ?
Those engines were designed to use ULSD fuel from the factory so no additives of any kind are necessary.

and it cleaned up my 300 gallon home heating oil tank pretty good also.

RE: Diesel fuel additive
ForcedInduction is correct as your question relates to lubrication - no lube additives arebeneficial for engines designed for ULSD. However, when the weather gets colder (if you live in such a climate) you may wish to add an anti-gel agent likePowerServiceDiesel Fuel Supplement. You'll get a lube agent and cetane booster in the mix but they won't harm your ML320 CDI engine.
