Default Blower not working 83 300SD

I guess the best first step is to test the blower by applying voltage to its supply wire (could easily be the heater climate control taht is faulty)- but where is easy access to the wires?
My Clinton's makes it look very easy to change the blower, except the instructions don't make sense - it says

"1. REmove the cover from under the right side of the instrument panel" - what %*&@& cover is that???

I tried removing thecover on the right side of the foot pedal cavity where your legs go (ie left side cover of the central console which hasheater controls, radio etc), but no sign of blower. It's supposed to be right there acc to brilliant Clinton's:

"2. Remove the cover for the blower motor and disconnect the two-prong plug". Nothing that looks like a blower motor cover that I can see.....

the blower motor/fan is on the right/passenger side just under the glove compartment, take down the lower dash just below the glove box door, there are 4 phillips screws holding the blower motor to the housing.

Got it fixed now - the problem was clinton's "instrument panel" must be the whole dashboard all the way across the car. I thought the instrument panel is the little window in front of the driver with speedo etc.
Was quite frustrating for a while there.
