Ben's Mer-Chevy
Hi Everyone,
I am building a diesel/bio-diesel/veggie oil pickup truck.
I have a '94 Chevy S-10 to use as the frame, and an entire 1977 Mercedes 240D with the 4-cylinder diesel engine (non-turbo, non-anything special)
I am shooting for a reliable vehicle that will be able to get good fuel-economy and be able to run on bio-fuels. I am NOT expecting fast acceleration, or to be able to do burn-outs, etc. A friend of mine is a diesel mechanic, and said that he knew a few tricks for tuning these types of engines.
The Mercedes has the automatic transmission, and the truck has the stock 5-speed transmission. I am planning on re-using the Chevy transmission, unless I have some good reason to use something else.
I think I need the MANUAL transmission version of the flywheel for that engine. Then I can make a custom adapter plate to connect the engine to the Chevy tranny.
Here's a couple of videos of what I have done so far.

If anyone has the appropriate flywheel available for sale, please let me know.
All other advice welcome! (But please keep it positive, thanks!)
