Default auxiliary fan problem

Hi

I have a 1979 300D and my auxiliary fan wont turn on with the A/C on or even when the cars temp gets too high. Any advice? The fan works fine when it's connect directly to the battary.

please reply

Check the engine temp sensor. I should be N/O.

On the receiver drier is a pressure switch with two leads, with the a/c on jumper these two together. That should provide voltage to the fan. If the fan now works, suspect the switch. replacing it will not evacuate freon. On the driver side of the cyl head in the middle between the glow plugs is the large engine temp switch. Ground that lead to ck fan.
