I am in the process of rebuilding my newest project, an 86 30sdl I was just wanted to know if any of you have topped out your 300sdl and if so how fast did it go. I am hoping I will be able to cruise at 95-100 mph. I have read that the car should top out around 125 I would liike to hear from anybody on how fast their diesel will go.

Well most of these diesel drivers are probably in the states and thus trying to top out that thing in most places might catch you a few nights in jail; no license; big tickets; and in a few back-woods, a good beat down. Many don't want to risk that.

 

Well almost with my 1984 300SD, i think i was going 110 MPH @ 5,400 RPM. Rides great untill steam appeared. Later found out my radiator had cracked.

 

I have had mine up to 110mph on interstate 70 had plenty of pedal left to go. Very smooth and wonderful. That was about 4 1/2 years ago, so i dont remeber the RPMs. I just saw ur thread or i would have posted sooner. Like Blackwolf said no space to due a full speed run.

 

It's loaded with cops. Sometimes they really go out and hide themselves.

 

I try to find good streatches of empty hwy when I take road trips. It also helps having a real good radar detecter, mine has kept me out of trouble numerous times.

 

Hm. Good point. If I had one, I probably never would have gotten into any trouble with the 560 or the 735 in the states.
