what would be a fair price for an87 300sdl with 139,000 origianl miles. All service records in order. Very clean interior and exterior, original paint, car runs smoothly and a/c blows cold air.

I would appreciate any advise you can give me.

I recently bought the exact same year & model. Interior and exterior are in excellent shape. Mileage was unknown but near 100,000. I paid $4500 because I trusted the mechanic who sold it to me. A week later I took it to another mechanic who knows more about MB diesels and I ended up spending $3000 on repairs ( 4 oil leaks, cracked engine mount, etc.) However, it now drives like a dream! I couldn't be happier. I wish I had negotiated more with the seller - I wish I had gotten it inspected prior to buying it - just so I would have known how much it would cost to get it into good driving condition. Despite the expenses, I am extremely happy with my car.
