My 83 300d turbo dies seconds after start up everytime. Starts good, sounds good, then the engine slows down and dies. Iv checked all the fuel lines, filters. My thought is that its the fuel injector pump. Any way to diagnose the pump to see if its done? Any other thoughts ? thanks

This may be a crude way of checking, take a jar, about 500ml of diesel, disconnect the pipesfrom the tank and the return pipe, they both connect at very much the same place on the left hand side, and put the ends into the jar. If it then runs fine you know that your IP is fine and that there is an air leak somewhere else, sucks air easier than diesel...or fuel, whatever your fuel is..
