The serpentine belt on my dad's 300 wagon recently came off, and he has had trouble putting it back on. He bought a new belt, but first he is trying to put the old one back on (which doesn't seem worn really) to make sure he doesn't ruin the new one.

Anyway,the installation goes fine (removing the fan and shroud, wrapping the belt around the appropriate pulleys, and such), until it is time to put the tensioning mechanism back together. He is able to put the shock on fine, but we cannot figure out how to get the spring installed. Are there any tricks to doing this, because we are completely stumped.
