Can you post so Photos of what you think is not normal.
There is quite a few 300SD drivers in the US.
81 300SD Chassis W126.120 Engine OM617.951
I would inspect these Rubber Parts:
Transmission Cooler Hoses if it has a Automatic Transmission
Engine Oil Cooler Hoses (If you change them please not that it is common for the Aluminum Oil Cooler Nipples to be corroded to the Steel Hose Nuts and the often strip the threads when you back the Nuts off. There is a Mercedes athorized Repair for that. I just did that repair to My 300D Oil Cooler 2 weeks ago.)
The Engine/Motor Mounts
The Transmission Mounts (Seal leaks turn the Mount to mush)
There is 2 Rubber Flex Discs on the Drive Shaft. If one of those comes loose it often damages something. Get up close and look for tiny Cracks if there is no obvious large cracks.
The Rubber Drive Shaft Mount
And the Differential mount. Mine has that I don't know if yours does.
The Boots on the CV Rear Axles. Mercedes Fills them with Oil. If the Boot splits the Oil leaks out and you don't have lubrucant so you want to catch bad Boots before they split open or leak.
The except for GKN Lebreo (spelling?) Rear Axles the rest of the non-mercedes axles are extremely quationable so it is a good idea to keep the ones you have in good shape.
If you find your Boots cracked or Split come back and ask for more repair details on that. There is 2 ways to go to install new Boots on the CV Axles.

Thanks for the advice on repairs. Working on many of those as we speak.
My phone is have a hard time with the photos. Ill be working on it.
My SD does sit higher then any non-after market I've seen.
Had all the paper work on the import at one time but it has since been lost.

Here is a good comparison of the 300TD.
Everyone wants to lower their car, but I would love to get hold of a "3rd world suspension" set. With the weight modifications I've done, moving 200lbs off the front end and 120lbs total, it already sits pretty close to that and people have commented my car looks like it has an off-road suspension.
