1976 300D w/ ~30k miles... for $5,000?
I have an opportunity to buy a fully original, rust free 1976 300D that has ~30k miles on it for ~5k and am wondering if that's a good deal. I have a volkswagen diesel pickup right now and am thinking about selling it and getting a mercedes. Apples and oranges, I know, but any input would be appreciated nonetheless. Thanks!
I asked for service records or proof. However, if the guy has hardly driven it in the 8 years he's owned it, there wouldn't really be service records.
He did say the title says 27,000 something on it. Is it possible for the title to have falsified mileage on it?

Thanks a bunch, I do appreciate it. Sounds like this fellow needs a bit more proof about the car before I'd be interested.
I do have another quick Q though-- does the odometer falsification only happen on the ones that have 5 digit odo's? I was looking at a 79 with a 6 digit odometer which says 86,000 but again, there's not a whole lot of proof to back the car up.
Edit: I guess from your previous post it's obvious that the odometer can be reset even on the newer ones.
