Default 1976 300D not charging

my 300d has not been charging for the past few days.I replaced the battery under warranty and also replaced the alternator. the belt is tight and the connector for the alternator is installed. i brought it to you local auto parts store so they could check everything out and they got a very unstable reading jumping from 13 to around 15 volts so this is a inaccurate reading. I am going to recheck the grounds tomorrow. what else could it be?

it is a brand new alternator/regulator, i had it tested before i installed it and it checked out ok. i was researching a little and found that when the ignition is turn to the "on" position it powers the field. i'll have to check that voltage as well

well i got the issue sorted out. after checking everything twice i had the charging system load tested again. the new battery i was given off the shelf was bad so they replaced it, this is my third battery in one week, now I'm reading a steady 14.4v. those free replacement periods are very useful.

just as a reminder "new" batteries especially large batteries like the one the 300d takes don't get sold as often so the stock sits longer. always have them charge and test your battery before you have to use your 10mm once again.

finaly got a few cold days here in michigan.
