Interesting, but he may not have all that much of a case. LA Times
Good luck with that 'implied' warranty! Once the case is dismissed, maybe the car can be scored cheap on ebay! Heh.
Looks cool though.
"The customer bought the vehicle directly from Germany. He imported it himself. It's not certified for sale here. It's a race car, period," Mercedes spokeswoman Donna Boland said. "We don't import it and we don't have the ability or the parts or the training to service it."

Overall, I don't think the dealership have a case too much. I'm not saying Mercedes wasn't wrong but here are a few holes I think.
1) He said that they attempted to repair the car themselves. Are any of them certified to work on the CLK-GTR? Most of the time you have to be certified to work on a Ferrari or Lambo or even some BMWs and other high end Mercedes Benzes.
2)Sounds like a classic "grey market" issue. Not really truely for sales in the states, no parts for it no info, hell there's only five of them.
3) Is it even street legal in the states?
But then again with all the BS lawsuits that has been passing, he might just win.

they can claim warranty as an end user and not dealer. that's the hole where DCAG see.
cannot travel for more than 10 blocks is an over exagerration... of course it can.
it has dry sump design and the only oil in circulation is the only oil it got. less than that, oil pressure light is on.
they should post the problem here in this forum so i can advise them on what to do

the engine is not as complicated as other V12...except that there isn't much space doing it since it is located directly behind the driver.
i saw one when i was in germany for training, and the engine electrical/components are similar to mid 1990's car.
only the basic knowledge was given to us, and yes... i can fix it.
AMG can do it also because they modify it.
