stock navi to play dvdS?
hey guys im new to the forum and soon to be new to the benzo world
My first question isthat my friend has a 2005 MERCEDES BENZ ML350 with stock navigation. he wants to be able to make it play dvds. His fathers buddy who is a mechanic and has some sort of computer says you need special software or something
What is needed to be done to make a stock navi play dvds or video input, Sorry if im not explaining my self right or sound stupid, any input would be great and Im happy to have been intro'd into the benz world.... thanks

RE: stock navi to play dvdS?
2005 W163 M-classes are D2B based, meaning that the comand in dash is a CD-rom comand. You will NOT be able to play movie DVDs in the comand's slot.
You can either connect an aftermarket video adapter (one set of RCA plugs, can be used to connect a DVD player), or you can hook up an original MB TV tuner. If you opt for the TV tuner, and your comand is a US spec, you will get a German TV tuner menu (no English). The TV tuner has two sets of RCA plugs for DVD player, Playstation etc. Picture and sound reception of the TV tuner are better compared to the aftermarket adapter - but the TV tuner is more expensive!
