I own a GL X164. I intend to let install the B6 782 4254 IPOD Interface for COMAND.
My question is : is this interface installed at the place of the current AUX input in the gloves box ?
My problem is that, after the installation of the IPOD interface, will it be possible to continue using standard MP3 (not IPOD) ?

YES IT DOES. YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO USE THE AUX INPUT JACK AFTER THE IPOD KIT IS INSTALLED. THE AUX JACK WILL BE THERE BUT THERE WILL BE NOTHING AT THE OTHER END.
