I'm interested in upgraded the factory speakers in my '05 CLK. Anybody have a recommendation for me?

I have the same question for my '04 CLk 500, or at least a similar one... The highs seem ok in this car, but the bass is
pretty lacking... I posted this question on benzworldorg and got 0 responses... Seems these MB forums can take forever
for someone to reply to a question... Anway, I looked at Crutchfield.com for suggestions and they listed dozens of
potential speaker upgrades for the CLK which really didn't help matters much... It appears the big issue to a nice sounding
system is the BOSE head units and their lack of "friendliness" to play with other manufacturers equipment... From what
little I've read, you either have to keep the entire BOSE system or completely swap the whole thing out... I would think
simply replacing the speakers ( 8..? ) would make a difference but I may be mistaken in the case of the BOSE systems...
I can tell you the BOSE system in my 2002 Z06 Corvette was pretty decent compared to the one in my CLK..

Anyone want to give us a clue...

 

I found another potential option you may want to look into as a way to upgrade your speakers... Check out http://www.linkmeup.com/index.htm
especially the PD2 and PD4... They claim that you can use their device inline between the BOSE headunit and any speakers/amps/subs...
