Default Back-up Camera

Hello Everyone.

I am new to this forum, but have a concern. I recently purchased an 07 E350 & want to get a back-up camera installed to it. In my neighborhood I have tons of kids running around & would like to prevent an accident even with my own child. A friend gave me a aftermarket back-up camera, but looks really cheap. My question to you is, should I get this aftermarket camera installed by a private party or should I get raped by the Benz dealership, If they do have back-up cameras.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanx!

I do at least 3 a week of the aftermarket cameras integrated to the Command screen. It is a simple straight forward install, but we go the extra mile and everything is loomed in tek flex. I am not obligated to say which products we use, but it is definately top of the line. We usually do it for around $1,499.99 to $1,599.99 depending on the version of the command screen.

Thanx Esoteric, for taking the time to anwser my question. $1500-$1600 is pretty steep for a camera & installation, but I guess it's a small price to pay for the safety of your children.

Thank you.

I wish it was cheaper, but the video interface required by the Command unit is the most expensive part.I never took any pics, but next time I will and get them up on the Esoteric website. Also the camera is equal to or better than the factory camera in my opinion, but if it is like the S550 with the back up assist lines, this does not have it.

AlsoI understand about not running over the kids, I hear about it on the news at least once a month and I rarely watch the damn news. I met a customer who has a phobia of it, and we just completed his GL. Most people see it on a demo vehicle and have to have it.

What part of town you in?I have friends that do high end installs throughout the country.

Wow, I have had a few people recommend some shops in your area, I talked with 3 and was not impressed by their knowledge. I will keep looking.

Sorry
