Has anyone had any luck with the older v60 phones getting them activated through verizon?

I have the phone cradle installed in my 2002 S430 and I was thinking of picking up one of the compatible phones from eBay for use in the car.

Hello:

To modify the question a bit....can any of the current verizon phones be used with the 2002 S430 phone cradle?

I am taking starting a new job in a few weeks and I am going to have a nextel phone from them. Since I am locked into the Verizon phone for about 9 months, I could switch from my Treo to another Verizon phone to use for my car if any current model will work.
