We have just bought a 2000 plate ML270CDI and it runs great apart from it won't kickdown when you want to acelerate. It has a auto tiptronic box and we took it to a vehicle electrician today and they put it on the computer and it came back with Glow plug malfunction, Intake channel shutoff malfunction and a Accelerator pedal position sensor 1 voltage to high.
Could anyone please help

Should the kickdown button under the accelerator pedal press down and click back up by hand as this button does not move at all. Can you also tell me where the coolant sensor is as we cannot get the warning light off and it is full with coolant and finally when we press the low range button it just flashes quickly a few times and then goes off.
Hi luckyboy,
the kickdown button should be clicking back up to its original position, check if the floor carpet it's not in the way. I'm not sure where the coolant level sensor is located. Your throttle body may be very dirty from carbon buildup, not working freely. Also the electronic box on it's side is very simple, 4 wiper style potentiometers giving out difrent voltage reading in certain position. I would try cleaning it all before ordering replacement, they are $$$.
Check your owner's manual for low range shifting, I believe you have to have your car in neutral with brake pedal pressed down.
